Hey Simple Plan fans -- the wait is over! Simple Plan's much anticipated second album, Still Not Getting Any, is out and heading to the top of the charts. Vocalist Pierre Bouvier, drummer Chuck Comeau, bassist David Desrosiers and guitarists Sebastien Lefebvre and Jeff Stinco are in peak form. So get ready for some great music!
Also out is the Simple Plan LidRock! It's loaded with cool stuff like an exclusive live version of "Promise," "Addicted" live from the House of Blues, a "Shut Up" music video, plus screen savers, wallpapers, and much, much more!
Simple Plan's first album -- No Pads, No Helmets, Just Balls -- came out in 2002 and was an instant hit. The band sold millions of albums, performed with legends like Aerosmith, headlined the Vans Warped Tour, and got nominated for four MTV Video Music Awards.
The new album features singles like "Crazy," which explores self-doubt and humanity, and "Perfect World," which tackles loss. Its creation was also the beginning of the new album.
After wrapping a U.S. tour for their first album, Simple Plan returned to Canada to begin the second. They spent three months writing and writing and writing. As Bouvier explains, "…it just came together. 'Perfect World' was one of the first good songs that we got, and from there the songs just started coming out of us like a waterfall."
The first album stereotyped the band as punk. But help from famed producer Bob Rock, who has produced for greats like Metallica, Mötley Crüe and Bon Jovi, "Still Not Getting Any" brings together many different styles. "As an artist, why limit yourself to just doing certain things?" Bouvier asks. "It's like being a painter; do you decide to only use seven or eight colors, or blend the colors together and make the most beautiful painting possible." Lefebvre adds, "The record is a bit different from the first one, but it's still us."
Whether it lands in the punk, pop, or rock section of record stores, "Still Not Getting Any" is certain to be a hit!
